Hello Reception!
We are so proud of you for all of the fantastic learning that you have completed so far at home!
Don't forget to be a metacognitive learner - we are Ready, Responsible and Respectful and we show Resilience, Resourcefulness, Reflectiveness and Reciprocity in what we do. Sometimes things might get tricky but we keep trying and never give up. You can do it!
To refine our Home Learning provision further, we have included a timetable below that outlines our live zoom sessions and one piece of learning that we ask is uploaded to Tapestry each day.
The learning that you should upload to Tapestry will reflect the teaching from the zoom sessions so that we can model expectations and refine our feedback for the children. For example, on a Monday, we would like you to upload your child's Enquiry Challenge work to Tapestry for us to feedback on.
We hope you find this information helpful.

We are very excited to announce that we are going to be launching our new online reading scheme on Monday. The children will be shown in Monday's zoom session how to access their account, the books they will have in their library, the interactive quizzes in the books and how they can spend their reward coins.
You will receive a text on Monday morning with your child's username. The rest of the information that you need can be found in the letter below.
We are expecting children to read two books a week from this scheme - this will be timetabled in on a Monday & Thursday as 'Independent Reading Time' - to compliment our daily reading and phonics sessions. Once your child has completed a book, and the comprehension quiz questions, it will be stored in your library. You can always read a book more than once if your child wishes to read using Bug Club more over the week.
We hope you enjoy the new range of e-books!
Term 2
Hello Year R. If you're stuck at home waiting for a test or results we've got some ideas to help you with your learning. We're looking forward to welcoming you back and having a look at what you've been up to at home.
Hello Reception!
We are so excited that we can continue our learning here together. Check back on this page every day to see our timetable and the fun learning choices that we have planned for you to complete at home.
Don't forget to be a metacognitive learner - we are Ready, Responsible and Respectful and we show Resilience, Resourcefulness, Reflectiveness and Reciprocity in what we do. Sometimes things might get tricky but we keep trying and never give up. You can do it!
When you have completed a challenge, if possible, please upload it to Tapestry so that we can see the super learning that you have been doing. We will comment, feedback and reply to the best of our ability. Don't be afraid to do the same challenge more than once - review your learning from the first time and see if you can do it even better, or with more independence, the second time.
We are all in this together.
Stay safe, we will miss you all so very much and we can't wait to see you all again really soon.
Miss Golding, Miss Marchant, Mrs Cunningham and Ms Woolford.
At Sussex Road, we are huge advocates of learning through play; allowing children the opportunity for hands-on, exploratory learning experiences.
During this challenging time, we understand that some families are attempting the remote learning set with children of a variety of ages.
So... we have listened to your feedback and in this section we have downloaded some Activity Sheets (all downloadable with a free login from www.twinkl.co.uk) that you can use to support your child when learning at home.
These Activity Sheets are NOT work set by your Class Teacher. We have downloaded these as suggestions of suitable learning for time fillers ONLY IF you need it.
We would much rather your child learn in an active way, through play, but we understand that this can be tricky with more than one child. Please note that if you choose to use these Activity Sheets, your child will need support with how to use them as they will not have been exposed to these before at school.
We hope that these are useful to those that need it.
