- How many syllables does it have (clap each syllable to help you)?
- Make a list of synonyms and antonyms
- Can you use it in an interesting sentence?

Firstly, let’s look at who Winnie is. David Walliams has introduced her as a social worker. I found it really interesting how David described her. Look at the mind map I created with how she is described!

Task
Today I would like you to think about the following question! There isn’t a wrong or right answer, it is your opinion – based upon facts in the book.
‘Do you think Dad should have called for Winnie’s help?’
It is important to gather your ideas together for this so like we would in class, create a table with two columns – for and against! Listen back to the story and make notes for each opinion.
There is no requirement here for any additional research – it is about unpicking and using the book for support.
For – why do you think Dad made the right decision asking for help?
Against – why don’t you think Alfie should have?
We will use the notes/thoughts/opinions generated today to form a discussion paragraph tomorrow.

Religious Education
Today, we are thinking more deeply about Diwali and in particular, the goddess, Lakshmi. Lakshmi represents good fortune and prosperity and you will be reading and retelling the story of Lakshmi and the clever washerwoman. You will then write down the blessings you would like to bestow on yourself, friends and family, school, your local community and the world in general.
Also remember to have your last practise of the VE day songs before our sing along tomorrow.
