9:30 – 10:30

Maths

  •  Take a look at the example shape patterns. the example are made from just one shape which have made different turns.
  • Watch the video is you need support with spotting the pattern.
  • Copy questions 1-10 in your Maths book and answer them.

10:30 – 10:45

Break

Get outside in the garden for a kick around, run around or a bit of fresh air.

10:45 – 11:10

SPaG Unit 4 (p14) adding -er or -est

  • Have 2 of the dictation sentences from p54-55 read to you. Think carefully about the rule as you are writing them.
  • Can you spell 4 words in a row correctly. Don’t forget the doubling rule.

11:10 – 12:00

Writing

  • Focus of description of the fire and ash today using different techniques; expanded noun phrases, similes and metaphors.
  • Use the ideas from the mind map and the 3 techniques to describe the flames, fire and ash falling from the sky. I have written an example to help you or give you some ideas.

12:00 – 1:00

Lunch

Go outside for a bit of fresh air and play a game!

Reading

  •  Read or listen to Chapter 4 of 'The Enchanted Wood'.
  • Discuss why it's strange that the tree grows acorns, chest nuts and cherries.

1:30 – 3:00

Enquiry

  • Watch the video of the London streets in 1666. What do you notice? Write in the bubbles or in your books some thoughts of what you see and think.
  • Use what you have seen in the video and the pictures to draw a typical street in 1666.
  • Now we’re thinking about what we would have changed to prevent the Fire of London.
  • The houses were too close together, there was no running water, the top floors poked out of the front so fire could jump across the street.
  • Think about these things that were wrong – draw a street, still in Tudor style, that would have made it more difficult for the fire to spread.
