Wednesday 20th January 2021

Good morning! We're halfway through the week!

How did you find your writing of your Potion Introductions yesterday? We really enjoyed reading the pieces that were uploaded onto Tapestry - it's so lovely to be able to still see your work and the great things you're achieving each day! Today, we'll be creating the last piece that will allow us to pull all our writing together! yes

Keep uploading your work on Tapestry. We love to see it.

09:00 - 09:45: Class Daily Zoom Session!

It's been lovely to have so many of you join us for the calls so far. Make sure you have a paper and pen ready for the session, to make notes of key learning points and to be able to join in with the tasks :-).

How could we round off our advert?

So, we now have the introduction and instructions to make our potion and now we are going to focus on rounding it all off with a conclusion, which will be the final reminder of what your reader should buy this product. Look at the attached sheet to get ideas on how to write a conclusion.

12:15 - 12:30   Class/Own Book.

Like we would in class with our class book, spend some time quiet reading or listening to the class book. The teachers have uploaded videos of themselves reading different chapters on Tapestry, so be sure to check :-).

Philosophical Question to finish the day!

Yesterday's Q:  If you could choose something to change in the world, what would it be?

Miss Martin: For me, I would want some wonderful, magical solution to climate change. It may be naïve of me to say this as the whole situation is very complex and involves many, many factors, but I wish we could change the direction in which the future of our planet's state is heading. We all need to do our bit to help the environment and reduce the impact humans have on the environment around us, however small it may be... We only have one Earth after all!

Miss Chapman:  For everyone to LOVE marmite ha! On a more serious note, poverty. I wish for there to be a solution or more ways of helping/supporting those facing poverty. It pulls my heart strings to know that some people wake up each day without certainty of things such as electricity, food or heating. These are the things which I inadvertently take for granted.

Mrs. Hudson: I agree with Miss. Martin, but I would also teach everyone to cook cheap, nutritious meals, so everyone always had a bank of ideas to use. I would also encourage people to grow more fruit and vegetables so that we could share our food.

Today's Question:   What is true happiness?

Spend some time during dinner or at some point in the evening, discussing this with the other people at home! We're sure there will be some interesting responses :-)
