Good Morning Year 4 :-)

Happy Easter - keep active, stay safe and don't forget to smile :-)

- What is its word class?

- How many syllables does it have (clap each syllable to help you)?

- Can you use it in an interesting sentence?

Are you able to use it, appropriately, when you are speaking or in any of your writing opportunities?

Complete the next comprehension in your Violet pack. Remember to read carefully and when answering look back in the text!

Once you have completed your comprehension, take the time to do some quiet reading or shared reading with a parent or sibling.

To warm up your brains this morning spend some time on Times Tables Rock Stars. If you have forgotten your user details they were given to you/stuck in your Maths book before we left school.

Then complete Week 2, Lesson 2, Step 8, Hundredths as Decimals from the website.

Look at the video first then complete the activity that accompanies it. As normal, please only work for 45-60 minutes at your Maths. Any left over learning can be completed after the holidays.

There are also documents saved below if you have any spare time.

1030 - 1100 - Break

1100 - 1130 - Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar

Today's focus is spelling.

We are looking specifically at what a prefix is and what it does to a word.

Just so you know for your challenge...

There are:

  • 1240 words that have the prefix mis-!
  • 3676 words that have the prefix un-!
  • 1691 words that have the prefix dis-!

How many of those do you know?

1130 - 1215 - English

...I am back with the FINAL installment of 'The Revenge of the Three Bears!' Take a look at the video I have uploaded for what you need to do today!

I for one have thoroughly enjoyed creating/writing my very own story - I hope you have enjoyed it just as much too!

Because we know how hard lots of you have worked on this over the last two days we would like to publish your stories on the website for all to read!  If you want yours published, send it over to us via the school office!

If you have handwritten your story you could:

  1. Take a picture and email it over
  2. Download the CamScanner app which coverts it into a PDF file and email it over!

1215 - 1315 - Lunch

1315 - Enquiry

It's time to show off everything you have learnt this term. You are going to create a 'KNOWLEDGE ORGANISER'. This is a way of grouping/organising similar information into sections. The mind map gives you some ideas about the different areas of knowledge we have covered, how you might group them and different ways you could present your learning. There are also two examples of what your knowledge organiser could look like (one Viking, one Anglo Saxon). You can create it on one large piece of paper, on separate pieces that could be joined together ... you could even create it on the back of a large section of wallpaper. It is your choice!
