Before 0900- Wake Up and Get Dressed

Get ready for the day with independence; have a wash, dress yourself, eat breakfast and brush your teeth.

0900-0930 - Reading

Can you retell the story of 'The Bog Baby' in your own words?  Listening to the story again and drawing pictures, like a story map, could help you.  Alternatively, you could watch the story with no sound to tell the story yourself.

0930-1000- Writing Challenge

To warm up, start with some Handwriting - you could rewatch one of Mrs Cunningham's videos on Tapestry.

Today we would like you to plan for how you could make a home for a Bog Baby. Think about what container you would use to keep it in.  It could be a bucket, ice cream tub etc. What do you think you would add to your container? Think about the story and where the Bog Baby lives and what it likes. You could always watch the story to help you think about this. Draw out your plan and add labels. Write a list of all the resources you are going to need to make your Bog Baby’s home. Don’t forget to add your Bog Baby to your plan! Here are some examples to help give you some ideas.

1000-1030- Home Learning Challenge (to continue after Break Time until 1130)

Choose a challenge!  We now have 4 Reception Home Learning Challenge Grids to choose from. :-)

1030-1100 Break Time

Have one healthy snack: a banana, apple, orange etc.  with a glass of milk or water.  Take some time to relax, maybe you could listen to another story online.

1100 - 1130- Home Learning Challenge

Continue your Home Learning Challenge that you started – don’t forget to try and upload it to Tapestry so that we can see it!

1130 - 1200 – Maths Challenge

Starter: Warm up by counting to 20, forwards and backwards.  How have you been doing with your Number of the Day Challenges?  If there are still some numbers that you find tricky, continue to look at a different number each day.  Practise being able to recognise your numbers to 20, in and out of order.  You could always watch an episode of Numberblocks to warm up.

This week is going to be a little bit different for Maths.  We have spent another full term learning at home so we are going to take this time to review the things that we have learnt.  There are three Maths Challenge Grids all pitched at different levels:

Mild (below expected (1)), Medium (expected level (2)) and Hot (above expected (3)).

We would like you to choose one Maths Challenge to complete each day based on your child’s learning needs and current understanding.  We will complete a challenge on the grid each day right up until the last day of term - Wednesday 22nd July.  Choose your challenges from the most appropriate level for your child.

1200 - 1300 - Lunchtime

1300- 1330 - Phonics

Open Tapestry and watch the video ‘Set 1 Speed Sounds.’  Say the sounds along with Miss Bailey; can you remember them all and say them before she does?  You should watch and say your Speed Sounds every single day.

Today we are revisiting – ou – Shout it out.  Log on to Tapestry to revisit the sound.  Once you have had a warm up, read the green words and then complete the Spelling Activity.

1330 Onwards- Transition to Year 1 Activities

Transition Activities for the week can be found in the 'Additional Resources' section below.  Some activities include posts from your new teachers on Tapestry so be sure to log on regularly - posts from your new teachers will not appear until the afternoon.

Please post on Tapestry as much as possible, engaging with the activities set by your new teachers is really important so they can get to know you really well before September.  Miss Jeffery and Miss Wilson have their own accounts so they will be able to see and like/comment on everything you upload.  :-)

When you have finished, enjoy some free time to yourself or to spend with your family.

We hope you have had a lovely day and we can’t wait to see your uploads on Tapestry.
