9:30 – 10:30

 Maths 

• First thing we are going to do is complete the triangles where each side of the triangle needs to add up to the number in the middle. Trial and error to see which numbers could go in each circle. 
• Look at the children’s opinions, what do you think? Can you follow their ideas and see if they work. 
• Can you investigate if other numbers are possible in the middle with completed sides. 

10:30 – 10:45

 Break 

 Get outside in the garden for a kick around, run around or a bit of fresh air. 

10:45 – 11:10

 SPaG - Unit 13 (p46) suffix - ment 

• Can you have someone at home to read you the dictation sentences (p54-55). 
• Let them test you on some of the words from this week. 

11:10 – 12:00

 Writing 

• Look at the original front cover and blurb for the story ‘Captain Cat and the Great Pirate Race.
• Design and create your own front cover for the story. Remember to include the title, author’s name and illustrator’s name.
• Write your own blurb for the book. This is meant to describe the story and make people want to read it. Remember to not give the whole story away!

12:00 – 1:00

 Lunch 

 Go outside for a bit of fresh air and play a game! 

1:00 – 1:30

 Reading 

• Read or listen to Chapter 31 ‘The Land of Birthdays’.
• Discuss what you think Saucepan Man did to upset everything.

1:30 – 3:00

 Transition

• Create a picture of your favourite toy, teddy, pet or object using pens, pencils or paints.
• Look at the example pictures.
• Email your picture to the school office or drop it off with your letter at school.

 End of the day 

 Enjoy spending some down time with your family.
