- Rewatch some of the Year 2 Maths Problem videos to give some guidance on how to solve today’s maths problems.
- Have a go at as many of the 15 maths problems as you can.
- Use the Year 2 Maths Recap document if you need some help remembering how to do some of the processes.

Break
Get outside in the garden for a kick around, run around or a bit of fresh air.

SPaG – Unit 8 (p28) words ending in -le
- Can you have someone at home to read you the dictation sentences (p54-55).
- Let them test you on some of the words from this week.

Writing
- Watch today’s video explaining our task for the next two days. We are going to be a reporter for the local newspaper, who is rather worried about the arrival of the Jolley Rogers.
- Read the example (red part today, green part tomorrow).
- Use the questions to help you think about today’s part. What did people see, what were the pirates doing, how are people feeling?
- Use the template newspaper or write in your book. You need a headline and write the first part of the report.

- Read the silly songs that Old Saucepan Man sings.
- Use his rule to make up your own silly songs for Saucepan Man to sing.

- We’re going to design a flag for the Jolley Roger’s ship today.
- Watch the video which shows lots of pirates on their ships but look carefully at their flags. There are all sorts of different symbols on them in different colours too.
- Look at the table of what the symbols all mean and there are some examples to inspire you.
