Welcome to your final week of Term 3 Remote Learning! 

We hope you managed to watch the Online safety live lesson by the BBC. There was lots of things to consider. 

We were very surprised to hear that Tonbridge Park hadn't turned in to an ice rink, where it was flooded, but it was great to see the snow angels, snowmen and just general fun you were having in the snow. 

We are all enjoying seeing your wonderful work, especially your inventions and your bus stop division.

It's been lovely to have so many of you join us for the calls so far. Make sure you have a paper and pen ready for the session, to make notes of key learning points and to be able to join in with the tasks :-).

Look up what the word means, what word group it belongs to and place it accurately into a sentence.

Today, we’re continuing with our learning on dividing by looking at 4-digit numbers divided by 1-digit numbers.   

Work through the Wednesday 10th February – Maths Activity.

Flipchart PDF – Standard English: Adverbs  

Look through the slides for Wednesday 10th February – look at the example text and work through the questions. Make notes on the information about Standard English and adverbs if necessary. Have a go at the given task.

Use your skills and feedback from your potion advert and the sheet attached to write your conclusion for your technological advert.

Like we would in class with our class book, spend some time quiet reading or listening to the class book. The teachers have uploaded videos of themselves reading different chapters on Tapestry, so be sure to check :-).

1:30 - 2:00   Reading. 

Read about the scientist and inventor Charles Macintosh. Answer the given comprehension questions in full sentences.

Double page spread time! 

Publish all you have learnt this term into a double page spread. Look at the attached worksheet which reminds you of some of these questions we have looked at this term.

PSHE: What have we learnt about legal and illegal drugs?  

Complete the attached sheet which revises all we have learnt over the past 6 weeks about drugs. Create a poster for pupils in from year 4-6 at Sussex Road school, thinking carefully about drugs and the effects on our bodies and if they are legal or illegal.   

Think about how you will lay out your poster for maximum effect.  

Philosophical Question to finish the day! 

Yesterday's Q:  How can you tell what someone is feeling? 

Miss Martin: 

Miss Chapman: In a weird way I say you can tell from the feeling you get in your gut - like that funny feeling in the pit of your tummy. You can't always tell what someone is feeling from a first glance. People can be quite good at hiding their true feelings for a multitude of reasons. Asking someone how they are feeling is so important - giving them the opportunity to express their feelings. 

Mrs. Hudson: I think the main way is by looking at them. That is why eye contact is so important and we stress this in circle time. Sometimes you may just have a feeling that someone is happy or upset by the way they behave. It is always best to ask them if you are not sure. That way you might be able to help them or just enjoy their happiness. 

Today's Question:  How do you know if you need to ask someone for help or if you an do something yourself? 

Spend some time during dinner or at some point in the evening, discussing this with the other people at home! We're sure there will be some interesting responses :-)
