Today is Safer Internet Day!

We will be learning about what we should do when
using the internet and how to keep safe yes

 

There is a live lesson on the BBC at 11am too if you're interested.

Today we'd like you to upload your Maths work to Tapestry!

 

 

Here is your suggested timetable for the day

Maths

  • Watch the video of Miss Jeffery on Tapestry to test your knowledge of 2D and 3D shapes.
  • Answer how many sides each 2D shape has and then have a go creating the shapes with different things in your house like sticks, straws, stationary, spaghetti, drawings etc. (be creative!)
  • Now try to create the different 3D shapes using things around your home.
  • Extension: Can you explain what 2D shapes you can see in your 3D shapes?

Phonics/SPaG

  • Head to Tapestry to find your group’s assigned phonics/SPaG activity.

Break

  • Grab a healthy snack and get outside for some fresh air for a run around, a kick around or a bit of fresh air.

  • Today we’ll be having our English and PSHE lesson on Zoom. Come and join us for a lesson but also for a catch up and to ask any question you have.

SPaG

  • Practise the spellings following the instructions in the table.
  • Fill in the missing words in the sentences using the spelling you have practised.
  • Have go finding the spellings practised so far in the word search.

English

  • Re watch the video of Miss Williams reading ‘Camille and the Sunflowers’.
  • Think about why you think van Gogh should have been allowed to stay in Camille’s village.
  • You can read up about van Gogh to remind yourself a bit about him or watch the videos.
  • Join your class zoom to discuss all the reasons why Vincent van Gogh should be able to stay in the village and create a class mind map.

Lunch

  • Enjoy some lunch and get outside for fresh air.

Reading

  • Read or listen to Miss Williams read ‘The Storm Whale’.
  • Discuss your answers to the questions with someone in your house.

PSHE

  • Watch the assembly video to learn what Safer Internet Day is.
  • Read the story (or watch the video) of Detective Digiduck and write a few sentences about what you have learnt.
  • Sort the words into the ‘true and false table’.
  • Complete one of the two Digiduck activities to share what you have learnt about how to use the internet safely.

Enquiry

  • What is a masterpiece? Discuss your answers to the questions.
  • Decide what the focus of you art pieces will be this week and what art forms you will be using.
  • Watch Miss Williams attempt the challenge on Tapestry.
