Maths

  • Watch today’s video explaining about measuring in metres.
  • Choose 10 items from around your house and put them into either column of measuring more or less than a metre.
  • Complete the other activities using metres to measure and calculate.

10:30 – 10:45

Break

Get outside in the garden for a kick around, run around or a bit of fresh air.

10:45 – 11:10

SPaG Unit 5 (p17) – ee sound spelt ey

  • Use your magic fingers to sound out the words in our dots and dashes challenges today. Remember to write how many sounds there are.
  • Today in your word changers task today you have to remove the –s suffix to find the root words.

11:10 – 12:00

Writing

  • Watch the video of 'Mary and the Great Fire of London' again, this time spotting any verbs in the story.
  • Copy the sentences about the Great Fire of London in your book, changing the verb for a more interesting and accurate verb.
  • Create three of your own sentences about what would have been happening in the Great Fire of London. Remember to use the most powerful and relevant verbs.
  • Watch the bitesize video about adverbs.
  • Copy the sentences in to you book underlining the adverb in each line.

  •  Read or listen to Chapter 6 'Moon-Face and the Slippery-Slip' from The Enchanted Wood.
  • Discuss what you think about the new character, 'Moon-Face'.

Enquiry

  • Watch the video of Miss Wilson explaining about the houses that were around in 1666.
  • Task 1 – Label the house or make a mind map in your book of what the house was made of.
  • Continue to play the video to hear the rest of the explanation.
  • Task 2 – why would they use those materials to build their houses?
