Good morning Year 4! smiley

Word of the Day

Vibration

What does it mean?

Can you think of synonyms and antonyms?

What word class does it belong to: adjectives, verbs, nouns or adverbs?

How many syllables does the word have?

Can you include it in a sentence? Remember capital letters and punctuation.

Reading

Carnival – Reading Comprehension

Read the text all about the carnivals! The text has been spilt into different subheadings to make it easier to find information. This text might inspire you to draw pictures of carnivals later on.

Answer the questions on the sheet. It might be helpful to underline key words in the questions to remind you of what to look for.

Maths

6 Times table and Division Facts

Today is all about knowing your 6 times table and division facts. Remember, division is the INVERSE of multiplication.

To warm up, write the 6 times table down in a random order. Next, write the division fact next to that multiplication. Remember, you are dividing by 6.

For example, 5 x 6 = 30        30 ÷ 6 = 5

                     7 x 6 = ?            ?  ÷ 6 = 7

Have a go at the White Rose worksheet.

GPS

Work through the SPaG Activity 1 questions. There are some tips to help you. Be sure to read them. If you have log-in details for Lexia and Spellzone, spend 5 or 10 minutes working through them.

Writing

Today, you are going to write about your chosen song (either 'Summertime' or 'If it ain't got that swing'). Read your QCE so you are clear about what you are aiming to include in your writing. There is also a Night on Bald Mountain WAGOLL (What A Good One Looks Like) to help you. When you've decided which song you are writing about, cut out and glue the appropriate picture into your book before writing. They are in the Learning Resources section.

Wider Curriculum

Forest School

As we would have taken part Forest School this term, click on the link to see what exciting activities you could do out of school. The activities are a mix of those that can be completed indoors, in the garden or on a family walk and can be done independently or with siblings/parents. Click on this link to take you to the Forest School page.
