Free Verse Poetry
Today we are using what you created yesterday to make your own Free Verse Poem!
What do you find in a poem? Look at the video below on the Year 4 webpage or the PowerPoint attached!

You task is to now write your own free verse poem using your description from yesterday!
A suggestion on how to go about it:
- Decide how many lines you would like your poem to be
- Cut up that many strips of paper
- Write a phrase/word/sentence per piece
- Put them together and voila you have your poem!
- This way you can change the order of each line to see what works best
- EDIT – could you improve a line in the poem? Would something else sound better?
Once you have your poem it is time to perform it! Think back to when we had ‘music’ as our focus topic. We looked at tempo, intonation, dynamic and expression, all of which you need to include in your performance!
We are hoping to create a section/ on the website full of your awesome poems!! Please record yourselves and send them our way. The maximum size file is 75mb so please keep to this! If you are unable to, your class teacher may be able to compress it (but no promises!).
