I just wanted to say how you were all so fabulous yesterday on our class zooms! 
 

Samuel Pepys was so impressed with all your interesting questions and wished you luck with all your learning on the Great Fire of London. He also wanted to correct himself from one of his answers from 2EB's zoom. He did in fact own a lion before giving it to a zoo!

Here is your suggested timetable for the day

Maths

  • Watch the video ‘Sorting 3D shapes’ on the Year 2 page.
  • Complete questions 1-5
  • Extension: Have a go at the extension questions. Watch the video on Tapestry explaining what a diary is and how to write one.

Phonics/SPaG

  • Head to Tapestry to find your group’s assigned phonics/SPaG activity.

Break

  • Grab a healthy snack and get outside for some fresh air for a run around, a kick around or a bit of fresh air.

  • Today we’ll be learning all about how firefighting has changed over the centuries.
  • Come and join us for a lesson but also for a catch up and to ask any question you have.

Enquiry

  • Watch the video showing how firefighting has changes over time. There are also some great videos around a real life fire station!
  • Use the knowledge from the video to write the differences between firefighting in 1666 and now, 2021.

English

  • Write your own steps to success for writing a diary entry.
  • Look at the example diary entry and underline or highlight the things from your steps to success.

Lunch

  • Enjoy some lunch and get outside for fresh air.

Reading

  • Read the end of ‘Fire Cat’ or listen to Miss Williams read it.
  • Discuss your answers to the 8 questions.

SPaG

Today there are 2 SPaG activities.
Everyone needs to have a go at Activity 1.

  • Practise the spellings following the instructions in the table.
  • Fill in the missing words in the sentences using the spelling you have practised.

Activity 2 is optional but if you have received a text telling you to complete Activity 2 please do.

  • Watch the video ‘Recapping Apostrophes for Possession’ on the Year 2 page.
  • Complete the questions 1-3.
