Today is all about the adjectives

English

Look at the illustration of the front cover of our book this term. What can you see? What clues has the author given you about the book?

Today we would like you to write a prediction of what you think this book might be about!

What is the buildup, the problem and how is it resolved?

To support your thinking initially, mind map what you can see! Answer the following questions on your mind map:

  1. What kind of story do you think this might be? What might it be about?
  2. Can you speculate about the moods and feelings of the characters in the picture?
  3. What can you see, hear or smell in your mind?

Below is a mind map which may get your imagination started. If we were in school, we would be discussing this with each other so try and talk through some ideas with someone at home!

Enquiry

Today, you are going to produce your FINAL DRAFT of your marine animal. You are aiming to draw as precisely as you can. Can you remember the steps Austin followed to improve his learning? Share them with someone else. I have listed them on the Lesson Plan to help you. We can't wait to see your finished pieces. Good luck!
