This week is Children’s Mental Health Week. Make sure you take some time out for yourself to relax, reflect and ‘Express Yourself’ by sharing feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through things like art, writing, music, dance and baking. We hope that by doing things that make you feel good, you can improve your mental health, especially when facing tough situations or difficult times. smiley

What does it mean? 

Can you think of synonyms and antonyms? 

What word class does it belong to: adjectives, verbs, nouns or adverbs? 

How many syllables does the word have? 

Can you include it in a sentence? Remember capital letters and punctuation. 

 

09:00 - 09:30 - Reading 

Scare at Shadow Fair 

Read the fictional story all about a scare at a fair! Answer the questions on the sheet. It might be helpful to underline key words in the questions to remind you of what to look for.  

CHALLENGE: When you are finished, count how many adjectives you can find. Can you think of any synonyms for these adjectives?

You are going identify nouns that are being described and the adjectives used to describe them. You will also re-write sennteces, adding your own expanded noun phrases. Work through the SPaG – ENP Activity Sheet and use the SPaG – ENP Answers to check how you did.

Today you will be completing your End of Block Assessment. There are 2 assessment sheets - Maths Assessment A and Maths Assessment B. You may want to practice your multiplication and division before working through this assessment.

You are focusing on the features of a form of poetry called cinquain (pronounced san-cane). Read Lesson 2 – Planning a cinquain.  Work through the Cinquain Introduction powerpoint. You will then generate ideas for different themes using mind maps. Follow the planning steps and the Messy Room mind map WAGOLL in the Lesson Plan to help you.
