talking lots about how to express ourselves! Join Mrs Atkins for a whole Year 2 Zoom today where she'll be talking a little bit about this laugh

  • Watch the video ‘Interpreting Pictograms (2, 5, 10)’.
  • Answer questions 1-3.
  • Have a go at the extra questions 4-8
  • Extension: Can you try the problem solving and reasoning questions?

Phonics/SPaG

9:45 – 10

  • Head to Tapestry to find your group’s assigned phonics/SPaG activity.

Break

10 - 10:40

  • Grab a healthy snack and get outside for some fresh air for a run around, a kick around or a bit of fresh air.

10:40 – 11:10

  • Today we’ll be having our SPaG lesson on Zoom and discussing Children’s Mental Health Week. Come and join us for a lesson but also for a catch up and to ask any question you have.

  • Watch the video on contractions on the Year 2 page.
  • Write out the sentences using the contracted form.
  • Add the apostrophes to each contracted word so that the sentences makes sense.

English

  • Remind yourself on your favourite way to catch a star.
  • Watch the song on imperative verbs.
  • Think about all the steps for how to catch a star your way. Write an imperative (bossy) verb and time word for each step.
  • Use your time words and imperative verbs to practise saying your instructions out loud.

  • Enjoy some lunch and get outside for fresh air.

Reading

  • Read ‘Grandad’s Secret Giant’ or listen to Miss Williams read it.
  • Answer the comprehension questions 1-10.

Try write your answers in full sentences if you can.

  • Pick three of the pots and talk about or write what you think about them focusing on colour, form, texture and design.
