Good Morning Year 2!

 

We hope you have a terrific Tuesday, here is your day plan with suggested timings and your activities. Use your home learning and spelling books to write in. We are looking forward to seeing the different reasons you come up with about why Henry VIII wanted to live at Hampton Court. Think back to our persuasive leaflet and the research we did to help you, alongside the Hampton Court website below.

9:30 – 10:30

Maths

  • Intervals of time – how many different things can you do in a minute?
  • How many minutes in an hour?
  • Change the length of time for all the activities into hours and minutes.

10:30 – 10:45

Break and snack

Get outside in the garden for a kick around, run around or a bit of fresh air.

10:45 – 11:10

SPaG

Starting unit 1 (r sound, spelt wr)

  • Look at the root words, sound them out with your magic fingers and then do their dots and dashes.
  • For the word changers – look at the words with suffixes on the end, remove the suffix to find the root words.

11:10 – 12:00

Writing

  • Draw a story map of our trip to Hever Castle (or of a favourite day if you didn’t visit Hever Castle)
  • Write a time word next to each picture

12:00 – 1:00

Lunch

Go outside for a bit more fresh air and do a GoNoodle activity!

1:00 – 1:30

Reading

Read a story with someone in your family, use the dog questions at the back of your learning pack as comprehension type questions like we do at school

1:30 – 3:00

Topic

Why would Henry VIII want to live at Hampton Court?

Research Hampton Court and think about the benefits of living there.
