Morning Year 6!

Welcome to another day of Remote Learning.  How many 'Good Citizen' challenges did you manage yesterday?  Do you think you'll get through them all by the end of the week?

We hope you're looking forward to starting your research for your biography today.  A good biographer will try to find information about their subject that is interesting but little known.  Remember: you are writing to inform your reader but also to entertain.  If you are interviewing someone - either in real life or with the help of technology - try to avoid asking 'closed' questions (those that often result in a 'yes' or 'no' answer).  For example, 'Tell me about your schooldays,' will probably elicit more detail than asking, 'Did you like school?'

Until tomorrow ...

You tell us you’re keeping in touch with one another.  Hopefully you’re share book recommendations.  One we heard this week is that The Boy in the Tower by Polly Ho-Yen is worth a read if you haven’t already.  Snowglobe by Amy Wilson is another recommendations we’ve had.

You’ll need to use your comprehension skills this week as you do your research for your biography: make sure you understand what you are reading about your chosen person rather than copying chunks of text.
