Transition Arrangements

All parents should now have received a Welcome Pack providing further information.  We would be grateful if all paperwork could be returned to school ASAP.

Transition Programme

Individual parent meetings with the Early Years Leader

Miss Golding, Early Years Leader, will be holding 1:1 meetings with the families of New Entrants providing an opportunity for parents to share information about their child, e.g. hobbies and interests, feelings about starting school and details of any support they have at nursery.  The meetings are currently planned to be held at school over the 14th, 15th and 16th June. The school office will be in touch to arrange appointments.

Tapestry Accounts

Tapestry is the online platform we use to upload the children's significant achievements at school.  We also encourage families to add to their child's profile with photographs, videos and comments about their achievements at home.  To support us in getting to know your child as well as we can before September, we have already set up accounts for your child.  This will allow you to start sharing updates with us immediately.  If you have any queries about how to use Tapestry, please contact the School Office before the Summer holiday so we can get these ironed out for you.

Story Time Sessions

Unfortunately, due to current restrictions the story time sessions have been cancelled.

Headteacher and Early Years Leader Virtual presentation

Mrs. Birkett and Miss. Golding will be giving a presentation and holding a Q and A session for parents. The meeting will take place on 22nd June at 4.00pm-4.30pm or 24th June 10.00am-10.30am. The meeting will be held virtually over Zoom, please register with the school office for one of the allocated days. The school office will be sending out further details.

Stay and Play

All children will be invited in for a chance to meet the Reception teachers and experience some time in the Reception classrooms on Friday 3rd September.  The admin team will inform you of times shorty.

Book Bags

These will be given to the children during the Doorstep Drop Offs on 8th July.  The Book Bag will contain a Tapestry User Guide, a gift from the school to enjoy over the Summer and a Transition Booklet.

Home Visits

Ordinarily, your child's teacher and teaching assistant would offer a Home Visit on the afternoon of the day before your child starts school.  Due to the uncertainty of the Government guidelines in September, we have decided to hold these meetings at school instead.  We encourage you to bring your child along so they can spend more time becoming increasingly familiar with their new classroom.  The meetings will be fully risk assessed and social distancing will be adhered to.  Come prepared with all those questions that have popped into your head over the Summer!  We will notify you of the time of your meeting in school, before the end of term.

Staggered Start

Children will start in September on a staggered start allowing the children time to settle into their new school routines.  Up to 8 children will join us daily over 8 days.  The first few days will be part-time allowing children to settle into new routines and expectations effectively:

Full classes to start -  Wednesday 15th September:  8:40am - 12:00 noon

Thursday 16th September - Friday 17th September:  8:40am - 12:45pm (including lunch in school)

Monday 20th September onwards:  8:40am - 3:15pm (full-time)
