Look up what the word means, what word group it belongs to and place it accurately into a sentence.

Look through the slides for Thursday 7th January look at the given Brain Warm-Up activity and then work through the sheet Determiners.

Get somebody at home to help with with the dictation task. Have them read the sentences aloud to you.

Write your own Shakespearian Positive Potion Poem!

You are going to create your own 'Positive Potion Poem!', using Shakespeare's poem for ideas. 

1. Decide what your potion is going to be for (hope, friendship, care)? 
2. Brainstorm words to describe what it looks like, the ingredients, how it cooks (simmers, boils), any onomatopoeic words (bubble, splash, whizz). 
3. What key phrases will you repeat? 
4. Use the same structure from the 'Three Witches' poem to help you. 

Give it a go and draft your ideas! Don't be afraid of starting again & re-drafting if you're not 100% happy.  All writing is a process!

Like we would in class with our class book, spend some time quiet reading or listening to the class book. The teachers have uploaded videos of themselves reading different chapters on Tapestry, so be sure to check :-).

Remember a syllable is the separate sound parts that a word can be split up in to. 

So, Mrs Hudson = 4 syllables      Miss Martin = 3 syllables       Miss Chapman = 3 syllables

Yesterday's Q:  What is the funniest joke you know? Why is it funny? 

Miss Martin: What do you get when you mix a kangaroo and a sheep? A wooly jumper!  I don't need to explain the comedic genius behind this... I think we all agree, it's hilarious! 

Miss Chapman: What did the left eye say to the right eye? Something between us smells!

Mrs. Hudson: What do you call a mushroom who likes going to parties? A fungi to be with! Boom! Boom! It is funny because you need to know that a fungi is the name for mushroom. Actually I have loads more... but there is not mushroom on this page! Did you see what I did then? Tee!Hee!

Today's Question:  Would you rather have sun or snow?
