Today we will be doing a super fun shape quiz on our class Zoom,

so be sure to join us!

 

Please can you have two piece of paper ready,

one that says A and another which says B.

You will use these to show your answers to the questions.

Here is your suggested timetable for the day

English

  • Write another diary entry as Samuel Pepys, this time for ‘Monday 3rd September’.
  • Try to see if you can include expanded noun phrases and similes to describe the fire.
  • Have a look at the model write to help you.

Phonics/SPaG

  • Head to Tapestry to find your group’s assigned phonics/SPaG activity.

Break

  • Grab a healthy snack and get outside for some fresh air for a run around, a kick around or a bit of fresh air.

  • Today join us for our end of block assessment on ‘shape’! How much can you remember?
  • Come and join us for a lesson but also for a catch up and to ask any question you have.

Maths

  • Join us on zoom to complete our end of block assessment on shape.
  • Complete the Properties of Shape sheet to see how much you can remember from this topic.

SPaG

Today there are 2 SPaG activities.
Everyone needs to have a go at Activity 1.

  • Practise the spellings following the instructions in the table.
  • Fill in the missing words in the sentences using the spelling you have practised.

Activity 2 is optional but if you have received a text telling you to complete Activity 2 please do.

  • Watch the video ‘Recapping Compound Words’ on the Year 2 page.
  • Sort the compound words out so they correct words have been joined.
  • Tick or point to the boxes which are compound words.

Lunch

  • Enjoy some lunch and get outside for fresh air.

Reading

  • Sign into your Bug Club account and pick a book to read.
  • Read your chosen book and complete the activities as you go along.

Enquiry

  • Listen to the story ‘Rameena’s Ramadan’ on Tapestry.
  • Visit the Newsround website and watch the video to learn more about Ramadan.
  • Answer the question ‘Why do Muslims fast?’
  • Use the story and videos to make a mind map showing how Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr’.
