In this lesson, you are going to write a newspaper article about your new and exciting archaeological discovery ... the mysterious skull!  Use your fictional animal from yesterday to describe the shape of the skull and the teeth. Why do scientists think it was a carnivore, herbivore or omnivore? How can they tell from the type of teeth the mystery animal has? To help you, please look at the following:

yes Newspapers

yes Newspaper Genre Features Checklist (the 5 Ws are REALLY IMPORTANT)

yes 5Ws Planning Frame to help you plan your article and the information you want it to include.

yes Newspaper Key Vocabulary - helpful sentence starters/phrases you can include in your own writing.

yes WAGOLL - can you find any of the key vocabulary in my example? There are also two jokes in my version. Can you find

      them?

When you have looked at all the above, it’s time for you to be a JOURNALIST and write your own article about the newly discovered skull!
