This morning, we would like you to plan your poster! Yesterday you created your subheadings and answers. With those, you need to draft out what your poster will look like. On a piece of A4 plain or lined paper, sketch out a rough idea of where your information goes. That will tell you how much room you have to write all of your information in. Next, draft your information – this may mean you need to adjust your layout!  

Drafting success criteria: 

• 4 subheadings (minimum)  

• Page Title  

• Text boxes  

• Diagram boxes 

• Picture boxes 

• Bullet points 

These are all the things your final poster must have so make sure you have planned where they are going to go today!

Okay, let's check how much you remember from last week's lesson about French words for food and drink. The labelled pictures below have some of their letters missing. Can you complete the words by adding the missing letter?

Step 1

If you have real items that would be great but don’t worry if you don’t, you can always use the Food and Drink Frame. Sort each item of food and drink into these two categories. If you like all of them, don’t worry, you can rank them from favourite to least favourite. Photograph, draw, glue or write your groups into your Home Learning Book.                                                                                                                               

Step 2

I wonder how many of you remember the phrase, ‘Il fait mauvais’ from Unit 7 about the weather? What does it mean? Now watch the videos (Parts 1 and 2) to find out. Listen carefully and repeat back the phrases to support you with pronunciation. The phrases are:

C’est bon pour la sante (It is good for the health)

C’est mauvais pour la sante (it is bad for the health)

Step 3

Complete Activity Sheet 13 – Matching and Sorting. Look carefully at how you have sorted each item. Are the groups similar or different to the two groups you started the lesson with (I like and I dislike)? Were there any surprises?

Step 4

You have watched the video tutorials so will be familiar with the phrases you need to use in the following activity. Work with learning partner and practise the phrases using a variety of items.

Person A: La coca, c’est mauvais?

Person B: Oui, la coca c’est mauvais pour la sante.
