RE
In Christianity, Christians believe that Jesus’ words and actions show them how to live. These are called the Beatitudes – Matthew (5:3-15).
Watch this hyper link Sermon on the Mount. A sermon is a bit like a lesson. Jesus used this sermon to teach and guide his followers.
Read the Beatitudes. They have been re-written in a simple, clear way to help us understand what they mean.
Talk to someone else about what each Beatitude might mean. Freeze frame or draw an image to show how a Christian child might carry out that action in their daily lives.
Re-read the Ten Commandments from last week. Compare them to the Beatitudes. Answer these questions in your book, using full sentences:
How are the Ten Commandments and Beatitudes similar and different?
Why do you think they mention God so much in both sets of rules?
Which of the Beatitudes do you think is most important? Why?
Story Time
