Hello Year 5! *virtual elbow bump*
We hope you are all okay... we're also finding it very peculiar not being in the classroom with you. We hope you are staying well!
Listed below is our suggested timetable for the day. Remember, you can adapt and edit the times you do these tasks to suit the timetable you have at home :-).
Word of the Day: Confluence!
Like you would in school, look up what this word means, what word group it belongs to, place it accurately into a sentence and work out what prefixes/ suffixes could be added (remember this last one doesn't always apply!).
09:00 - 09:30: Reading.
Refer to the Reading Task below. You will need a Fiction book for this task, so find one at home if you are currently reading a non-fiction book.
09:30 - 10:30: Maths.
We're going to recap on Ordering and Comparing decimals. We think some further practice and revision on this would be helpful... especially for those decimals which have different numbers of digits after the decimal place.
Watch the video below to remind yourself!
Remember: write the given numbers in a place value chart. Move along the chart from left to right, comparing the numbers.
10:30 - 10:45: Break.
Have a snack and try to get some fresh air if possible. Don't forget the Joe Wicks workout videos as an alternative!

10:45 - 11:15: Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar.
Choose 3 spellings from the Year 5/6 Statutory Spelling List. Write/draw them in a way which helps you to remember them. Look at the Visual Spelling Strategies document to help.
11:15 - 12:15: English.
Look at the English Task below for your task.
Use the additional resources which have been uploaded, to help you with your writing: Time Adverbials Word Mat and Time Conjunctions and Connectives Word Mat.
12:15 - 1:15: Lunch.
Be sure to have something to eat and try to get some fresh air! Use the above link if now is your time to check out Joe Wicks.
1:15 - 1:30: Quiet Reading.
Like we do in class with our Class Book, take a moment to do some quiet reading to yourself.
1:30 - 2:15: RE-Focused Activity:
Look at the attached RE Task below. This is an opportunity to continue with all the wonderful discussion and learning that Miss Hooper and Mrs Richards have told us you have been getting up to!
2:15 - 3:00: French-Focused Activity:
Look at the video below and refamiliarise yourself with the pronunciation and vocabulary surrounding your learning to do with the planets in French. Refer to Pronunciation and Vocab Sheet - Les Planetes to help you.
Using the same sheet as above, try to complete Activity 23 from the Eurostars Sheets - Activity 23. Using the words you have been given in the grid, try to come up with a sentence about each of the planets.
And that's you done for another job! There was a lot in there so well done for persevering and working through the tasks! Be back tomorrow Year 5, look after yourselves!
