The Ending
Today we are continuing with your planning but focusing on the final paragraph. Before you start today, look through the planning you did Tuesday and Wednesday. Familiarize yourself with the story you have created to ensure you keep on the right track!
At the end of your planning, if you are able to, record yourself saying the chapter out loud in full sentences ready for you to come back to on Friday when you are writing! Remember not to save over Tuesday and Wednesday’s recording – you will need all of them. It might be worth labelling the recordings, so you know which is which.
The Ending
How does the story end? Does it end happily? Is there a twist to the plot?
Miss Chapman’s Notes:
Initial Sentence: Cliff has a better wig and feels even happier setting off to the competition.

Your planning should now all be written down! Before you finish today, take the time to read through your story following your planning. You will probably realise you have missed out a key piece of information which is quite pertinent to the story. Sometimes we can find it hard to spot these missing parts so it is a good idea to read/share your story and planning with someone else who can give you peer critique (like we would in school!)
French
We are going to be learning about a variety of sports and healthy and unhealthy eating habits. We will be learning the French names for different food and drink and how to express opinions about them. First, have a look at these words. Can you name the food and drink? Some of them you will have seen before. What could help you to work out the ones you are less sure about? Answers are in the Lesson Plan below.
Answers
Step 1
Really take your time to practise saying these words. Focus on PRONUNCIATION. - use the audio files above to help you pronounce them as accurately as possible (Note: French people normally say 'frites' for chips, not 'pommes frites').
Step 2
Game: Qu'est ce que c'est? (What is it?)
Hang Man – take it turns to choose a word. Make sure you have the correct spellings before you draw you lines.

Guessing Game Player A: Draw/write your food/drink (don’t let Player B see it!) Player B: You have only three guesses for example: C’est un jus d’orange? (It is orange juice?).

Step 3
Oh la la! The French names for food and drink have been jumbled up (see French Resources)! Put them back in order and write them into your Home Learning Book. Leave a blank line under each word in case you need to re-write or correct the spelling.
Throughout this unit, use your Core Language resource OFTEN. These are key words and phrases you are aiming to learn, say and understand over the course of the term.
