Good Morning Year 1! 

 

The sun is shining today so enjoy spending some time being outside if you can.

 
Our suggestion for your day: 

  

0900-0930 - Reading 

Choose a book of your choice to read to yourself or to someone in your family - you could log on to Tapestry to a story read by a mystery teacher!  

  

09:30-1000- Maths Challenge 

Today you are going to be learning something new. You are going to be learning what an array is and how to make them.  To help you with this, watch the video provided by White Rose. Week 2. Lesson 5 – Step 4 – making arrays. https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/

Can you complete the questions on the flashback before you work your way through your challenge.

Read through all the challenges today and pick one which one suits you best. Set out your answers in your books like the example given

 

 

1000-10:10 – Handwriting 

Check Tapestry for today's letter. 

 Letter o "all around the orange".

Write the long date at the top of your writing books. Watch the video online and then practise writing the letter in your books. Remember to always start your letters on the line and make sure they are the right size. Do not rush it.   

  

10:10-11.10 Snack Time and Learning Choice Time 

Have one healthy snack: a banana, apple, orange etc. with a glass of milk or water. Make your own learning choice, there are ideas on the grid on our man learning page. 

  

1115-1200 – Phonics 

 Log onto tapestry and watch the speed sounds videos. 

  

1300- 1330 – PE 

Choose an online work, play in the garden or go for a cycle, scoot, walk or run! 

  

1330 Onwards Topic and Learning Choice Time 

 

Today is St George’s Day. St George is the patron saint of England. Can you do some research about Saint George and why we celebrate this day? Attached is some information on St George’s Day
