This is the final lesson of the week from White Rose. We will be doing a core skills day on Friday. So, for today login as normal to White Rose and complete Lesson 4 which is entitled Order Decimals. As always complete the worksheet (on paper or in your book) and check the answers afterwards.

Today you need to write your ending of Chapter 1. 

Before you begin, look back over the planning you did on Tuesday! Remind yourself about the ending you chose.  Some of you may have recorded yourselves, listen back to this too!  

As you are writing, make sure you look back at your planning otherwise you might repeat yourself or miss key parts of your story out!  

For this Chapter I would like you to focus on the 4 key areas in the table below. It may also be worth reminding yourself of the writing target you were set by your class teacher in your report given to you at parents evening. 

To help you with your success criteria, you could ask a parent or sibling to read your writing with you!

Happy St. George's Day! If you know what I mean, then well done because apparently only one out of every five people know that St. George's Day is celebrated on 23rd April each year. One quarter of people don't know he is the patron saint of England. Lots of countries have patron saints. Perhaps you could find out what a patron saint is.

Step 1: Read St. George's Story. There is a country mentioned in the story. Try to find it on a map.

Step 2:  Create your own comic strip of the story of St. George

Challenge:

There is a very famous painting called'St George and the Dragon'by Paolo Uccello (1470) which is currently in the National Gallery, London. In normal, safe times, you will be able to visit the gallery to look at the painting for yourself. It's remarkable and almost 600 years old.

Look carefully. What can you see? What colours have been used? Can you explain to someone else what is happening in the painting? What surprises you about the painting?
