Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education

Welcome to Sussex Road School Personal, Social, Health & Economic Education (PSHE)

PERSONAL - all about us as individuals

SOCIAL - how we interact with one another

HEALTH - our well-being (both mental and physical)

ECONOMIC - our relationship with money

We believe an engaging PSHE curriculum will equip children with the tools they need for life and promote a positive sense of well-being.  We aim to support children, not just in their academic development, but emotionally and spiritually as well.  We want children at Sussex Road to be responsible citizens who play a positive role in society.  Children are introduced to a wide range of issues that affect us locally and globally and are encouraged to question the world around them.  Through the promotion of our school values - READY, RESPONSIBLE, RESPECTFUL - the children learn to take responsibility for their own actions and the consequences that follow.  In an increasingly digital age, children explore how to maintain online and 'real life' safety whilst still taking calculated risks.

PSHE is a truly cross-curricular subject, underpinning and linking with so many other areas of the curriculum, such as Science, DT, Maths, English, Geography, etc.
