MyMaths
MyMaths is a fully interactive, online mathematics learning solution for children of all ages and abilities. It helps your child to develop their understanding of maths through a variety of engaging activities, games and assessments. Teachers, pupils and parents love MyMaths because lessons are clearly laid out and they fit current recommended practice.
Here at Sussex Road School, pupils in years 2 - 6 have access to MyMaths and teachers will set your child activities to complete weekly. These activities will either aim to consolidate content covered in their class or to prepare them for new mathematical concepts that are going to be covered.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What do I do if my child has forgotten their login/password?
If you don’t know your child’s MyMaths username or password then you must ask their teacher. MyMaths is not able to give out login details directly to students or their parents for security reasons.
How do I find the homework that has been set for my child?
When you go to the MyMaths homepage you will need to log in using your child’s school username and password. You will then see some more boxes labelled ‘My Portal’ where you can put in your child’s username and password. In here you should see your child’s homework on the first screen you come to. If you can’t see it, then make sure you are on your homework page by clicking the ‘My Homework’ tab on the left hand side of the page.
What are the computer requirements for running MyMaths?
As MyMaths is a fully online resource you will need nothing but an Internet connection and an up-to-date web browser with inbuilt Flash, or a recent version of Flash installed on your computer. MyMaths supports all the major browsers such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, but please make sure your Chrome or Firefox browsers are up-to-date and your Internet Explorer is version 11 or higher.
How can I get MyMaths on my tablet?
MyMaths can currently be used on iPad and other tablet devices through the free Puffin Academy app on iTunes or Android. This means you will need to download the Puffin Academy app first and find MyMaths on the app itself.
Times Tables Rock Stars
Maths teachers recognise how fundamental times table recall speed is to later success in maths lessons; yet it's not always easy finding engaging ways to do daily practice. Here at Sussex Road School, pupils in years 2 - 6 have access to TTrockstars and teachers will set the appropriate times tables for your child to practice at home. Children can choose to play solo or against others from around the world or their class but with no chat feature so you can rest assured they are staying safe online.
There are four game modes of TTrockstars that your child has access to:
Garage - this mode contains only times tables questions set by their class teacher. This is the recommended mode to play at home.
Studio - this mode contains any times tables questions. This mode can be selected if your child wishes to challenge themselves.
Festival - this mode contains any times tables questions and allows children to play against other players around the world.
Arena - this mode contains only times tables questions set by their class teacher and allows children to play against other children from their class.
