Welcome to Sussex Road School Music
At Sussex Road, we want the children to develop a lifelong engagement with music. During their time with us, the children explore playing, composing, performing and evaluating a wide range of music - from the classical and traditional to today's contemporary, as well as music from other cultures. There are plenty of opportunities for children to work collaboratively as well as the chance to develop individual talents. As well as following the National Curriculum in the classroom, there are opportunities for one-to-one music lessons and to be part of one of the Sussex Road choirs. Children have the opportunity to perform at the Christmas Carol service, to the residents at the local care home and at the Summer Music Festival - as well as during performance assemblies throughout the year. In Year 6, the children collaborate together to perform a musical production in the summer term.
