It is 5 pages long. You will be answering questions about it later in the week so you will be looking back at it but today just become familiar with the text, maybe reading it more than once. It can be found in the Reading booklet PDF.

Today I would like us to think about the following question:  

Should Cliff stay and become an island, or should he leave to go to the Hallowed Shallows?  

Task: 

To write reasons for why he should stay and become an island and reasons why he should leave to go to the Hallowed Shallows.  

This could be done as a table. Remember to draw the lines in your book neatly! 

When thinking of your answers – imagine yourself as each character. What would they each say to Cliff? What would their reasons be?

We already know the Great Barrier Reef is one of the marine wonders of the world but over the next two lessons, we're going to find out why. Here are some very BIG numbers to help us appreciate why it is famous and so important.

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most incredible natural phenomena in the world. Take your time to enjoy the galleries, powerpoints and video before completing your learning. 

Choose the text and level of questions you would like to answer. Read the text carefully. Please write in full sentences. For example:

Question: What is the name of the largest ocean in the world?

Answer: The name of the largest ocean in the world is the Blahblah Ocean.

Look at the underlined words. These are all the words I have recycled from the question to help me write my answer. I have only actually added one new word. Genius!
