Week starting Monday 4th May

Thursday

Below there is a link to a wildflower guide. If you are going for a walk with your family as part of your daily exercise you might like to see if you can spot any of these. You may even have some in your garden. Don’t worry if you can’t get out where there are wildflowers at the moment, you can use the sheet as a reference and have a go at drawing one for yourself. You could even try designing your own wildflower. What shape petals will it have? What colour will it be? Where will it grow best?

As always it would be great to see what you come up with.

You can share on Tapestry (Years R and 1), via the School's Twitter feed or by emailing the school.

Don't forget to put Forest School in the subject line and please remember our online safety rules.

Wednesday

Mindfulness colouring - Who is up for a challenge?

In the link below you will find a slightly different colouring sheet than you might be used to - It’s a map! You might need to use some resilience and perseverance in this activity! There is a huge amount of detail, so take your time and try to colour it as carefully as you can. You might like to find somewhere peaceful, where you can see or be outside or maybe complete it while you are listening to the birds or chatting with your family. Don’t try to complete it all in one go, instead keep coming back to it and do a little bit each day. If colouring isn't you thing maybe you could have a go at drawing your own map. It could be a map of your house, garden or your favourite walk. Add some details and maybe even a key and some compass directions.

Tuesday

Make a birds nest

Collect some natural materials from the garden, recycle some packaging or use some spare craft materials. Can you create a suitable nest for a bird? Think about what type of bird will use it. Will it be strong and wide or small and cosy? Remember you must never disturb a real bird's nest. The adult birds will be flying to and from the nest, feeding their young or sitting on their eggs. If they are disturbed they may abandon their nest and young. Unfortunately, the eggs or chicks would be unlikely to survive.

Monday

This week's word search theme is trees. You can have a go at finding the words or you can use the pictures to create a pairs game. Maybe just print it once and have a go at drawing your own matching cards.
