This term we are going to be reading ‘Demon Dentist’ by David Walliams.
Look at book cover (what kind of book do you think we will be reading, why?)
We are going to start reading Demon Dentist tomorrow. Today, we are going to be thinking about your experiences of the dentist. Your task is to write a diary entry of your visit to the dentist. If you haven’t been for a while you can watch this video to refresh your memory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQi2F9nhuU4
Here are some questions that you could answer in your diary.
What did the dentist look like?
Was he/she kind to you?
What did the dentist do?
What was it like in the dentist surgery?
What happened when you were there?
Where did you sit?
Who were with you?
How did you feel?
You are welcome to add some imagination to your writing too which might make your diary even more exciting!
Don’t forget the skills you could use to make your writing even more exciting.
fronted adverbials
adjectives
conjunctions
powerful verbs
writing in paragraphs
Remember, a diary is written in a chatty style because it is an informal piece of writing. Take a look at the WAGOLL (What a Good One Looks Like) which has the start of a diary entry if you would like some inspiration.

After this video, see if you can ask someone in your family to call out the different positions whilst you respond and show them how to do it. This will be helpful for when you return to school because you will need to know the names of the positions in gymnastics.
PSHE
This week, we are thinking about how we express our feelings and what might effect our feelings on a daily basis.
Look through the ‘PSHE - Expressing Feelings’ PowerPoint where you will explore a range of feelings, think about what might effect your feelings and how you might deal with negative situations.
Work through the ‘PSHE - Processing Emotions’ worksheet where you will need to think in detail about a positive and negative emotional situation and how you dealt with it.
Story Time
Listen to 'The Wizard of Oz'. Today you will be listening to Chapter 1 and 2
