1:30pm  Science Investigation Walk

Take a walk and look at plants in your local area.

Where do plants grow?  What makes it a good place for a plant to grow?

Where are there no plants?  And why don’t they grow there?

Record your findings on a table with words and/or pictures. Use the table below or draw your own.

Answer this question: What do plants need for life and growth?

Challenge yourself: Can you think of all 5 things a plant needs to live and grow?

The answers will be provided tomorrow.

**IMPORTANT In readiness for our plant dissection tomorrow, on your walk collect a dandelion (flower with about 8cm of stem). When you get home put it in a cup with a few drops of blue/black/dark food colouring and 1 cm of water. Don’t worry if you don’t have food colouring, there will be photos tomorrow so you can see what would have happened.

2:30 - 3:00  Music

We’ve got a great song to learn this term.  I wonder who will be singing it the loudest in your house?  And dancing too?
