Hello Year 5 or 'Helô' as they say in Welsh!

We know you will continue this brilliant work in Year 6 and get better and better. So we are in the last three days of term... We haven't be at school properly for 4 months. Can you believe it? You have done so well, so we hope you enjoy the different activities we have planned for the next three days. Go Year 5!yes

1:30 - 2:45: Enquiry: Rounding Off!

Congratulations everyone, you have completed your Ancient Egyptian Work!

Let's go back to our question: What if you were pharaoh for a day?

  • Draw a picture of yourself as a pharaoh! Could you add a photo of your face? If you were pharaoh for the day, what would you do?
  • Create a plan for your day as the King of Egypt or brainstorm all the ideas you have around your picture. Use all the knowledge you have acquired over the last 7 weeks to help you!

2:45 - 3:00: Philosophical Question.

Today's Question: Would you rather be a mountain or a river? Why?

Spend some time during dinner or at some point in the evening, discussing this with the other people at home! We're sure there will be some interesting responses.

We look forward to hearing about your responses!

Yesterday's Q: Should men and women get paid the same in all sports?

Mrs. Hudson: My gut feeling to this is yes, as I believe in equality for all. But a good example of this is tennis, where women play 3 sets to win a match and men play 5 sets to win. So should they get paid the same when they don't play for a similar amount of time?

Miss Martin: If the basic elements of the game are the same, then yes I think they should be. We're trying to move forward and encourage equality and opportunity for all and this should be the same in sport as well!

We look forward to hearing your responses! Log in on Tuesday for more wonderful learning! Have a great evening.
