Word of the day: horizon
Challenges:
- Find out what it means and write the definition in your own words!
- What is its word class?
- How many syllables does it have (clap each syllable to help you)?
- Make a list of synonyms and antonyms
- Can you use it in an interesting sentence?
Are you able to use it, appropriately, when you are speaking or in any of your writing opportunities?
0900 - 0930 - Reading
Take a look at the Reading Comprehension tab which is on the Year 4 Remote Learning Homepage.
There you will see our weekly comprehensions. We shall upload a pack each week which vary in 'heat challenge'.
Take a look and see which one you feel best suits you. You may find you complete the 'spicy' with time to spare, why not try at least one of the 'hot' challenges?
Please only complete one a day, from each heat level, otherwise you will run out!

What is a prologue?
A prologue prepares the reader for the story they’re about to read with information that is necessary to have before the start of the novel itself.
The prologue that David Walliams has written tells us a lot of information about the book before we have even read the first chapter! What I particularly like is how he has ended it with a series of rhetorical questions:
Who or what was behind it?
How were they able to do and leave these things without being seen?
What are they going to do with all the teeth they are stealing?
Today, I would like you to spend the time answering these three questions and predicting what the story we are reading might be about! If you have ever played the game ‘Cluedo’, treat it like you are accusing someone!
Tell me: who you think did it, where they are, why they are doing so!
