Dawdle 

What does it mean? 

Can you think of synonyms and antonyms? 

What word class does it belong to: adjectives, verbs, nouns or adverbs? 

How many syllables does the word have? 

Can you include it in a sentence? Remember capital letters and punctuation.

 

So we can bring online and classroom pupils in line with the Spelling rota, there will be no Spelling Challenge this week. Please practise your Week 2 Spellings in readiness for next week …. IN CLASS! Whoohoo!

Mythical Stories from Different Cultures 

Read the text all about The Story of Arachne! Answer the questions on the sheet. It might be helpful to underline key words in the questions to remind you of what to look for. 

 

09:30 - 09:50 -SPaG

Work through the SPaG Activity 1 questions. There are questions on possessive pronouns, conjunctions, prepositions, synonyms and apostrophes to indicate possession. Check Answers – SPaG Activity 1 to see how you performed. If you have log-in details for Lexia and Spellzone, spend 5 or 10 minutes working through them.

Fractions greater than 1

Then have a go at the Maths Worksheet and use Maths Answers to check how you did (both in Learning Resources).

Planning a diary 

Today, you will be planning your diary in the role of Alfie. We will be focussing on Chapter 3 and 4 where Miss Root visits the school for an assembly. Over the last week, we have been focussing on: 

  • Writing in an informal language (a chatty style) TUESDAY 23rd  

  • Time conjunctions WEDNESDAY 24th  

  • Speech with inverted commas THURSDAY 25th  

  • Writing a character description FRIDAY 26th 

 

The PowerPoint will guide your learning. There is a planning sheet in Learning Recourses which will help you to write your ideas in more detail and note down skills you might use in each section.
