Morning Year 6!

If things had been different, we would be on a coach today heading down to Devon but it is not to be.  It's okay to be disappointed about this but we also have to remember that no one is to blame and we can only look to the future when there will be other opportunities to explore and spend time away with friends.  For now, we look for the positives in our current situation and make the most of these unusual times.

We hope you enjoy today's learning.  We're particularly keen to see how creative you can be with the afternoon's challenge ...

Enjoy your day.

8.50am

Word of the Day EXQUISITE

Remember:

definition    word class    syllables    synonyms    antonyms    use

9am

PE

Choose one of the activities on the list.  You might want to start your day with something energetic or wait until you’ve completed the rest of your learning then get moving.  You can choose something different to do each day or repeat the same activity but try to do more or do it quicker.  Alternatively, you might choose something else completely!

9.30am

Independent Reading

We’ve allowed extra time for independent reading this week as comprehension will focus on Holes, which we haven’t started yet.

10.15am

Maths

We’re starting the term with multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000.

11am

Break

What do you do when you take a break from learning?  Stretch your legs?  Get a snack?  Read a bit more?

11.20am

Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling

We’re looking at synonyms today.  Can you remember what they are?

11.30am

Geography

We’re changing the timetable around a bit this week.  Today, we’re going to find out what the landscape in Mexico is like.

12.30pm

Lunch

Who’s in charge of making your lunch today?  Is it always the same person or do you take turns?

1.30pm

Art

One last photography challenge.

Over dinner, maybe?

Philosophical Question
