Read on to find out what Cliff did – did he stay and become an island or did he head off to the Hallowed Shallows?

Before we reveal the end of the book, we would like you to finish it yourself! Predict what might happen!

Today, it is just story mapping and gathering your ideas!

You need to have an introduction, build up, problem, resolution.

Everyone plans in different ways, do what is best for you!

Some suggestions might be:

  • Story map with words and pictures
  • Writing simple sentences
  • Drama/acting out
  • Stop-animation
  • Playdoh scene creation

So long as you have collated your story idea by tomorrow!

Below in documents you will find story map templates which you may choose to use.

Thought provoking questions; these might help if you're unsure what might happen in your story!

  • Any new characters?
  • Do they make it to the Hallowed Shallows?
  • What is it like at the Hallowed Shallows?
  • Does Cliff win?
  • What are the other Seawigs like?
  • Does Cliff meet any friends?
  • How is Iris with her mermaid friends?
  • What problem do they face at the Shallowed Hallows?
  • Do they get lost on the way? Are they trapped?
  • What is the setting of your story? Draw a picture maybe! Then describe it!
  • Does someone else find Cliff and capture him?

The entire world shares the oceans and that means using it with RESPONSIBILITY (a Sussex Road value).

How are these objects linked to the oceans?
