Can you think of synonyms and antonyms? 

What word class does it belong to: adjectives, verbs, nouns or adverbs? 

How many syllables does the word have? 

Can you include it in a sentence? Remember capital letters and punctuation.

Sir Isaac Newton 

Read the text all about Sir Isaac Newton! Answer the questions on the sheet. It might be helpful to underline key words in the questions to remind you of what to look for. 

 

09:30 - 09:50 -SPaG

Work through the SPaG Activity 5 questions. There are questions on punctuating singular and plural nouns, fronted adverbials, homophones and determiners (a/an). Check Answers – SPaG Activity 5 to see how you performed. If you have log-in details for Lexia and Spellzone, spend 5 or 10 minutes working through them.

Subtract fractions 

Today you will use bar and part-whole models to subtract fractions with the same denominator. Take a look at this video https://vimeo.com/507527822  or use the practice questions on Subtract Fractions – Introduction powerpoint. Then have a go at the Maths Worksheet and use Maths Answers to check how you did (both in Learning Resources).

Chronological Order and Time Connectives 

Today, you will be learning about what chronological order means, why it is used in instruction texts as well as revisiting time connectives. Work through the PowerPoint where you will be sequencing pictures and writing instructions using time connectives.
