This week is Children’s Mental Health Week. Make sure you take some time out for yourself to relax, reflect and ‘Express Yourself’ by sharing feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through things like art, writing, music, dance and baking. We hope that by doing things that make you feel good, you can improve your mental health, especially when facing tough situations or difficult times. smiley

Read this text all about a man who bought a mountain! Answer the questions on the sheet. Remember, all of the answers you need are in text. It might be helpful to underline key words in the questions to remind you of what to look for.

You are writing your Ella cinquains today. Here are some helpful steps for writing your cinquains: 

 

  • Pick out the most effective words or phrases from yesterday’s mind map  

  • Experiment with your words. Try them in different orders, place different words next to each other, swap them round. What do you think sounds best o or creates the best effect when you read it back? 

  • Make sure you have the right number of syllables in each line. Clap to count the syllables in each word (like we do in Word of the Day). If you’re still not sure, use the syllable counter https://www.wordcalc.com/

French 

Today, we are using French vocabulary to ask and answer questions about how much different items are. Work through the French Money powerpoint and then read Lesson Plan – How much is it. If you are unsure about how to say French numbers, use Numbers 1-30. Work with a partner to complete Activity Sheet – C'est combien. Everythiing you need is in Learning Resources.
