Good morning to our amazing Year 1’s! You have nearly completed your first week at your home school and we have loved seeing all the great learning you have done.

Our suggestion for your day:

0900-0930 - Reading

Choose a book of your choice to read to yourself or to someone in your family - you could log on to Tapestry to listen to Miss Bailey or Miss Jeffery read a story! Can you ring a relative or friend and give them a book review?

0930-1000 - Maths Challenge

See the document at the bottom. Today's maths challenge is combining addition and subtraction.  Choose which method you are going to use (Make sure you are challenging yourself) and write down the number sentence in your maths books

Extra: if you want to challenge yourself further, see if you can complete all of the challenges. Don't forget to write the date at the top.

1000-1030 – English Challenge

Continue practising your poem and add drawings to help you remember it.  Don’t forget to use expression and actions. When you can recite it off by heart (this might not be today) you are ready to perform your poem to your family and upload it to tapestry.  Have a look on tapestry to see Miss Jeffery perform her poem.  You could write it if you like!

1030 - 1130 Snack, relaxing time, choosing time

1130 - 1200 - Phonics or Spelling

Watch the RWI sound videos on Tapestry. Can you say the sound before Miss Bailey does?

Learn or revise the "oi – spoil the boy" sound.  A document is below to help you.

If you are confident with the "oi’ sound then learn to spell the word “they” using the document below.

1200 - 1300 - Lunchtime

1330 - 1400 PE

Cardio work out Joe wicks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3LPrhI0v-w

Catching/throwing practice. Use a soft ball or large pair of socks. Throw it just above your head and catch it with two hands. How many can you do in a row?

1400 - 1515 Topic

Continue on with your animals fact files. Use these questions to help you create them.

  • Which animal group are they from?

  • What are the features of that animal group?

  • What do they eat?

  • Where do they live?

Can you add a picture of your animal and label it?

1515 End of the school day!
Enjoy some time with your family :)

Have a enjoyable weekend! We can't wait to see you soon and hear about all the things you have done whilst not at school!
