Hello Year 5! *virtual hand wave - in a posh manner, like the Queen!*
So it's the last day of this virtual term. We are sure you are ready for a well deserved break from the wonderful work you have been creating! How have you enjoyed to being a good citizen completing a kind activity everyday? Hopefully you have made people smile. Next term, our enquiry question is.... *drum roll please* ... du-du-du-du-DUUUH...
So... we're having a real focus on Ancient Egypt, which we are all very excited about! So, we look forward to catching up with you then.
Remember to log on to the Remote Audio Book section and log in with your password as we are at the end of the story now!
Word of the Day: Discrimination
Like you would in school, look up what this word means, what word group it belongs to, place it accurately into a sentence and work out what prefixes/ suffixes could be added (remember this last one doesn't always apply!).
09:00 - 09:30: Reading.
Read your book for 15 mins or to the end of the next chapter.

10:30 - 10:45: Break.
Create your own obstacle course: Could you have sections with all the skills we have been practising, such as: running, jumping, skipping, throwing? Time yourself! Can you get faster?
Compare your time against a friend's or family member.

Spend 15mins on Lexia or Spellzone if you have an account - how great if we could hand out more certificates?!

To round up our work on the Wilderness War work, today you are going to write up your plan of the Wilderness War.
So you will need:
Use the Writing Mat to help you add that grammar correctly! You need to include at least 3 techniques off that mat!
12:15 - 1:15: Lunch.
Be sure to have something to eat and try to get some fresh air!
1:15 - 1:30: Quiet Reading.
Go on to the Wilderness War section of the website. Listen to the final chapters from 32-35, as Mrs. Hudson and Miss. Martin reads it.
It's the end of the story now... can't believe it?! We've really enjoyed reading it with you this term!
1:30 - 3:00: Geography-Focused Enquiry:
Work through the task Geography - Lesson 6.
Think about all you have researched in our Geography lessons... based on what we now know, what do you want the future of our world to look like?
Well done everyone! We are continuing with the philosophical questions! They are just some funny little thoughts to get your brains working and everyone interacting (save your points for lunchtime or dinnertime or FaceTime - get your family involved!).
It will be interesting to hear what you think! :)
Here we go:
What are you most proud of? Why? Do your parents agree? Why or why not?
Yesterday's question: What do you wish for most at the moment?
Mrs. Hudson: It probably won't surprise you that I would like to meet up with my friends and family and give them all squashy hugs. Watch out when it's over children!
Miss. Martin: I really miss being able to jump in the car and see friends... have a coffee somewhere alfresco! I also really miss places like Natural Trust and the gym and being able to go to other places to explore.... I'll never take those for granted again!
Have a wonderful half-term Year 5! You've done such a great job to have completed a whole half term, working through your virtual learning! Enjoy the break!
We look forward to seeing any ideas or work that you produced from today!
Log in next term for some more exciting learning!
