Friday 1st May

Happy Friday to all of our Year 1 super stars!

What a rainy week we have had! Hopefully the sun shines for us all this week end :)

Our suggestion for your day:

0900-0930 - Reading

Choose a book of your choice to read to yourself or to someone in your family - you could log on to Tapestry to a story read by a mystery teacher!

0930-1000- Maths Challenge

Today you are going to carry on learning how to find a quarter.  To help you with this, watch the video provided by White Rose.

Check Tapestry for today's letter.

Write the long date at the top of your writing books. Watch the video online and then practise writing the letter in your books. Remember to always start your letters on the line and make sure they are the right size. Do not rush it.

10:10-11.10 Snack Time and Learning Choice Time

Have one healthy snack: a banana, apple, orange etc. with a glass of milk or water. Make your own learning choice, there are ideas on the grid on our man learning page.

1115-1200 – Phonics

Log onto tapestry and watch the speed sounds videos.

Purple and Orange groups will be recapping the new sounds from this week, use the videos already uploaded to remind you of the sounds :)

1300- 1330 – PE

Choose an online work, play in the garden or go for a cycle, scoot, walk or run!

1330 RE and Learning Choice Time

On Fridays we will complete our RE learning where we explore different religions.

As part of our RE topic this term, we are going to be learning about different places of worship for Christians and Muslims. We will be exploring and comparing places of worship for Christian’s and Muslims.

Some key questions we will be exploring are:

  1. Which places are special and why?
  2.  Why do people pray?
  3.  If God is everywhere, why go to a place of worship?
  4.  Should religious buildings be sold to feed the starving?

Open today's learning activities to find out the RE tasks.
