Philosophical question: Why is time important?

9:30 – 10:30

Maths 

  • Solve the division questions using the number lines to do repeated subtraction.
  • How many marshmallows will everyone get? Count the number of marshmallows and then divide these equally between the number of cups of hot chocolate. Write the number sentence and answer to match the picture.
  • Make an array to match the division question and find the answer.
  • Extension: Use the three numbers to make four correct number sentences. Two multiplication and two division.

10:30 – 10:45

Break 

Get outside in the garden for a kick around, run around or a bit of fresh air. 

10:45 – 11:10

SPaG -  

  • A range of grammar and punctuation activities including contractions, expanded noun phrases and common exception words. 

11:10 – 12:00

Writing 

  • Last video of the week and the last day looking at ‘The Pirates Next Door’.  
  • Jim-Lad’s letter asked Matilda to come on an adventure with them in the summer holiday. 
  • Look at the world map, where might Matilda want to go? It could be somewhere you have been or somewhere you want to go. 
  • Write a letter back to Jim-Lad from Matilda saying a few places she wants to go and why does she want to go there? 

12:00 – 1:00

Lunch 

Go outside for a bit of fresh air and play a game! 

1:00 – 1:30

Reading 

  • Read or listen again to Chapter 18 ‘The Land of Take-What-You-Want’.
  • Write a list of all the things you would want to take from this strange land. 

1:30– 3:00

RE 

  • Watch the two videos about Buddhism.
  • Read the eight areas which make up the Eightfold Path.
  • Write a list of all the animals you can think of.
  • Choose 3-5 animals from your list and for each animal create a mind map about how you should treat it and what you can do to look after them.

End of the day 

Enjoy spending some down time with your family.
